What is the Church of Nazarene?
The Nazarene church is international Christian designations in the Protestant tradition. The growth of the Wesleyan Holiness from the mid -18th century in North America, the church increased from about 10,000 members on what is considered official foundation at the beginning of the 20th century. It is based on the Armin tradition of grace and Wesleyan tradition of holiness. The 19th century Holiness Movement offers an important historical context. John Wesley, who was helpful in establishing the methodist movement, preached the doctrine of the whole consecration that meant a believer in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit could give the ability to live without the corrupt influence of sin. This movement gained broad popularity in North America and Gave ascending to many churches and church groups.
The church grew out of the combination of these groups. The key point in its history was 1907 meeting the original Church of Nazarene, which was a large group of churches in the Western United States and the Association of LETnic Church of America, counterpoint of the group in the Eastern US and Canada. The combined group was called the Pentecost Church of Nazarene. A year later, with the addition of a few smaller groups in Texas and the Midwest, the merged units took the current name.
Doctrines of the Church Center on 16 articles of faith that are reviewed and printed every four years by the General Assembly of the Church in a book entitled Manual: Church of Nazarene . In general, the designation believes in the trinitarian god, triple grace, all consecration, healing and sacrament of baptism and the Lord's dinner. The three -year grace includes prevention grace, the general grace of God, which allows all people to seek it; justifying grace that grants the depreciation of both sin and personal sins to those who believe in Jesus; and sanctifying grace that allows the whole described consecration.
Organization is the Church both Congregation and Episcopal, whichIt means that there are elements of local and denomination checks. Women and men can be consecrated to serve as pastors. Individual churches are grouped into districts, districts to regions and regions at the global General Assembly. The three words used to describe the main values of the designations are Christian, missionary, holiness. Within this AS organization by these values, the Church is involved in evangelistic missions, social security missions, education, publishing, ministry of youth and scholarly.
