What is the coast?
The COTE Committee (Cote) was founded in 1990 by a group of individuals who are interested in supporting energy research in combination with the practice of architecture. Although the group under another title was established since the 1970s as the American Institute of Architects by the Energy Committee. Over time, the group began to cooperate with various organizations and governments to support the research of buildings, environmental design, sustainability and various "green" issues.
The mission of Cote is to promote and spread the word - to other architects, suppliers and the general public - about architectural practices that improve the design of the building and the way it affects the environment. Those who are part of Cote believe that people deserve to live in a safe and healthy environment while still maintaining the country's resources. Through the committee, there is hope for architects to realize environmental Issues, especially those related to energy. Is the belief that architects can become vzOrem for the protection and preservation of natural resources while still fulfilling their work duties.
Cote works hand in hand with the American Institute of Architects. They provide information about environmental issues and environmental policies, namely how these concerns have an impact on architects. Information of architects about how their design decisions can have an impact on COTE. The group also seeks to educate the public and several private groups in the hope of forcing them to consider ways that their proposals can affect the environment.
The lead is one of the main means that Cote hopes that his message is spreading. Encouraging leadership in the architectural community by, and by the aim of those who demonstrate leadership in their design decisions, the Committee will increase the number of architectural experts who will consider in their designsIT environment. The leading role can exceed those who are in practice of architecture and may include roles in the roles of education, government and other aspects of the industry.
Every year, the American Institute of Architects and Cote selects ten projects that demonstrate ecologically sustainable architectural designs. The best projects are recognized at the National Convention of the Institute. For example, the project can show a new approach to the practice of architecture while maintaining comfort and safety for the inhabitants of the building and lowering the impact that the environmental design can have. Some examples may include the re -use of materials or even building structures, maintaining water and energy by means of sustainable materials, finding ways to connect the inhabitants of building accommodating transit and improving air quality inside the building.
