What is the difference between hijab and abaya?

The differences between Hijab and Abaya are considerable because they are two very different clothing. Hijab is a scarf or head covering a woman in adherence to Islamic standards of modesty. Abaya is a long robe or cloak that covers the female body and usually worn over other clothes. In some cases, a woman will wear hijab and Abaya together, although some Muslim women or women living in Islamic countries can only decide to wear hijab. Abaya is usually worn in the Gulf States, such as Saudi Arabia, while women in other predominantly Muslim countries can wear another type of exaggerated grip or wear at all.

Smooth dresses have caused some controversy between Muslims and there are different interpretations of how a woman should be covered when she appears in public or in the presence of other men than her husband or close relatives. It is expected, however, that women usually cover their heads and hair to cover the bodies completely except their hands and faces and wearclothing that hides the shape of their bodies. Hitting head and hair is usually achieved by carrying a hijab, which can cover not only female hair, but also her shoulders, chest and in some cases a lot of back and torso.

While some women meet other requirements with mere clothes that fall freely and which completely cover their arms and legs, some women will wear clothing over these clothes for further coverage. In Iran, women can wear a relaxed raincoat called Manteau or and Chador , which is a large piece of fabric overdone over the head and body. Women in other countries can wear elbab , which is a long coats that often push the front or Abaya.

Abaya styles differ and some include hood, while others do not provide any head covers at all. The Hijab and Abaya will wear at the same time because Abaya with the hood does not provide the degree of coverage HLavy and hair that hijab does. In addition to hijab and Abaya, some women can also wear niqab , a veil that covers most or the whole face. Other accessories used to provide further coverage are the arms gloves that cover female arms when they wear Abaya with loose sleeves and gloves that cover her hands.
