What is the right way to set the table?
To establish a table, it is usually recommended to put a knife for dinner and a teaspoon of soup to the right of the plate and dinner and fork of the salad to the left of the plate. The dinner knife should sit closest to the plate and a blade towards the edge of the plate. Most people place the folded napkins on the left side of the board, besides the forks, although it is also considered acceptable to place a napkin in the center of the plate. Drink glasses are usually placed on the right side of the plate, just above the knife for dinner and a teaspoon of soup. A person who wants to build a table properly should probably not bring tools, plates or glasses that will not be used, because it could cause the table settings to be too crowded. Most of the time the mug and plate of coffee can be placed right, just over a tablespoon. It is also common to place a coffee tablespoon for mixing coffee to the right of the coffee plate. Bread plates usually go on the left, just above the dinner and fork of the salad. Book for cutting bread can be laid over a bread plate, with a SM knifeeating down and left.
The dessert is not always served with every meal, but when served, the dessert plate is usually not evolved until the main course is. Once the dishes are cleaned for the main course, the dessert can be brought by a fork or spoon. Sometimes people interpret dessert forks before serving desserts, and when it's done, the dessert fork is usually centered just above the plate with the end of the spoon pointing to the left.
When more than one beverage with food is served, such as water and wine, a separate glass should be given for each drink. In general, the water glass should be placed just before the wine glass and the wine glasses should go for water. Wine glass should usually be aligned so that it is behind glass water, but a little more to the right, so stretching behind a water glass will not be embarrassing.
There are many different methods used to set the table and the correct method depends on different thingsH, including the formality of food and the type of event for which the food is. Some people say that it is not necessarily the right or incorrect way to set the table because so many people do it differently. No matter how the table is set, it is important to keep things arranged so that people have a lot of elbow rooms and can easily get across the table for their glasses or different spices without worrying that they will knock down or hit someone else.
