What is Tarantella?
If the name Tarantella sounds unclear, it's not surprising. Tarantella is an alternative Italian form of the word tarantula , probably referring to the spider's wolf in several areas of Italy. The word refers to the spider in its origin and some of the more modern pieces of Tanetel's music can resemble a spider, but more often the dance version was perhaps cure the bite of the spider, a futile act, because it would strongly cause to go further absorbed by the body. In the 19th century it was popularized as a dance for Madame Michau dance and performed in France and England. Dance in the hall differs significantly from the land of Italian dance, but the main elements down. Usually, music for Tarantella for 6/8 or 3/4 time, or you can find some versions for 4/4 of the time with a lot of triplets. Although dance is a partnership, many steps are danced from each other and the stairs are often carried out by partners to the side instead of face to face.
Many steps are in triple, like triple gallop steps left and right. InWomen can cooperate with other women, but dance to the hall is a male and female partner. Dance is always energetic and triumphs female superiority over admiring men (at least during dance).
As far as the origin of the dance is concerned, there are actually more explanations. Dance may have been created in the small Italian village of Tarty, although others indicate that this type of ecstatic dance can go back to the dances that Greek women will honor the god Dionysia. During the 15th to 17th century, women in Italy could suffer from malaise and diseases called Tarantata, Tarantism, or Tarantate. The drug was intense dance (not such an unhealthy way to cure minor depression). Some suggest that the condition of Tarant was considered caused by the spider bite, but there is no indication that there was a spider in Italy that could cause depression or delusions.
Another possible explanation is that TaneC as "treatment" was a way to circumvent the prohibitions of dance because he was considered a sinful act. Yet, if the dance was the sound for medical purposes, or so it was, people could enjoy the dance that clearly referred to the relationships of men and women. It was not sinful, but rather a "cure". Whatever origin, you will find many versions of music in modern times.
You hear music in the initial scenes of godfather on Connie's Wedding and again in continuation. If you can find it on VHS or DVDs, you can also watch ballet, La Tarty , first choreographic and performed in 1839. If you are lucky to participate in a very traditional southern Italian wedding, you can see Tanetella dance. It is assumed that suddenly most weddings in the southern part of Italy would include dance at weddings, as shown in Coppola.
