What is water aeration?

Water aeration is the process of introducing air into the aquatic body to increase its oxygen saturation. Oxygen is an important part of water quality and its ability to maintain life. Water aeration can be done in different ways. Some commonly used methods include air forcing with aeration pipes, use of fountains to spray water into the air and the use of aeration equipment driven by wind.
