What is Wushhu?

The Chinese word wushu translates as military or martial arts. It is an umbrella term for martial arts and a specific discipline full of contact sport. Since 1991, the International Wush (IWF) Federation (IWF) will organize the World Championship every two years in recent competitions that draw more than 1,000 elite competitors.

More than 2,500 years ago, the style was developed as a means to support a healthy exercise and as a method of struggle for survival throughout the frequent period of the war in China. For thousands of years it has evolved as a combat style that was supposed to be pragmatic and functional while maintaining aesthetic beauty. Modern Wushu is divided into many different disciplines, including Taijiquan and Kung Fu.

In the competition, two types of forms are used. In taola there are routines that show the skills and abilities of athletes, solo, pairs and even large groups. Competitions are not fighting, but rather choreographer routines that show the right offensive and defensive positions and tactics. In some oSeeing forms are more closely associated with gymnastics than martial arts matches. Competitors are assessed according to their adherence to the right form and difficulty of the maneuvers they perform. Given that the competition sport is still quite new, the level of difficulty continues to grow when more talented athletes join the discipline.

Sanda Wushu includes real combat matches, similar wrestling and boxing. The matches are fought on barefoot and allow strokes, kicks and some wrestling style. Sanda and Taola exhibitions often take place at the same time, giving viewers a number of different styles that need to be watched at once.

Sport is designed for flexibility in use. There are Wushhu forms that are carried out on bars, with short weapons and long weapons. Among the commonly used weapons patients, free or double swords and spears. Each weapon dictates the movements of its own forms,This leads to highly specialized maneuvers. In Kung Fu, many principles of style are used to create sophisticated martial martial arts combat scenes.

barehanded forms are widely visible and can be fascinating to watch. Changquan style is perhaps the most amazing, including gymnastic elements such as rolling and air rotation and combat movements such as kicks and blows. Changquan performers are usually very flexible and must train for many years to achieve competence. In the 21st century, a slower form of Barehanded Wushhu found incredibly popularity around the world. taijiquan or tai chi , includes formulas of slow fluid movements to increase flexibility and meditative abilities.

The most interesting thing on modern Wushhu is that the form is constantly expanding because it grows in popularity. Since the first World Championship in 1991, competitions have become popular around the world, which has led to later world competitions held in Canada, Armenia,The United States and Italy.
