Who is Billy Joel?

Billy Joel was born William Martin Joel in Bronx, Billy Joel studied piano as a child and became a recognized pianist and composer. Although he joined the band entitled The Echoes, his early recording experience came from playing to the piano studio for recording sessions, and played in this role in the "pack leader" Shangri-Lord. He then played with Rock and Roll with the band called The Hassles and then in a duo called Attila, released three albums and two singles, none of which was successful.

In 1971, Billy Joel started a solo career with a debut album called Cold Spring Harbor . The mistake in the mastering caused the speeds to be too fast on several songs and the error was not repaired until 1984. Billy Joel, however, released a live tour, mixed songs with stand-up comedy and received favorable.

"Piano Man", "Billy Joel's First Top 40 Hit Singl, was also the source of his first album for ColaMBIA Records. His next album, StreetLife Serenade reached the number 3. It was a source of the TOP 40 single hit "Just Way You Are" and between song and album, Billy Joel won the song of the Year and record of the year Grammy in 1978.

Billy Joel had a number of other 40 top 40 hits, but larger triumphs had to come. In 1987 he became one of the first American rock artists to play in the USSR since the building of the Berlin Wall. In 1991, Billy Joel was awarded the Grammy Living Legend Award. In 2002 she directed Twyla Tharp and choreographer Broadway's musical Joel's music called Movin 'Out . In 2006 he set a record with 12 sold out concerts in Madison Square Garden in New York. 4 February 2007 Billy Joel became the first artist to sing the national anthem in two Super Bowls.
