Who is Gustav Klimt?

Gustav Klimt, Austrian symbolist artist, was born in 1862. Gustav Klimt has many famous works, including , adele i and . His subjects were often women and his works are considered elegant, though often sensual or erotic. They often collaborated at the beginning of Klimt's career and together with his friend Franz Marsch, they created an art team that they called the Society of Artists. Although Gustav Klimt was a commission for a number of projects, including three paintings for a large hall at the University of Vienna, his works were often considered "pornographic" in nature and sometimes publicly criticized.
