Who is Joni Mitchell?
Joni Mitchell is a Canadian singer-as a fully named Robert Joan Anderson. Mitchell was born in MacLeod - now Fort MacLeod - Alberta on November 7, 1943 and had a polio when she was nine. During her hospitalization she began singing for others and later learned to play guitar. She went to Art College in Calgary, but soon left and moved to Toronto, where she married Chuck Mitchell and then to New York. It was there, at the age of 25, recorded her first album, Joni Mitchell (Song To and Seagull) , doing her own vocals and playing an acoustic guitar.
Mitchell's second album, clouds , a year later in 1969 came to the TOP 40 and the first five. Other important albums include Ladies of the Canyon , Blue and Court and Spark . "Help me," in 1974 her top 10 records were. Later albums received several negative reviews and Mitchell turned to painting, with the European former House in 1991. Mitchell was introduced to KANAThe Dian Music Hall of Fame in 1981 and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. However, in 2007 she released Shine and received more favorable reviews and quoted the return of her voice fitness. In the same year it was listed on the Canadian postal stamp.
Mitchell is perhaps the best known for the release of her song Judy Collins "both sides" and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's version "Woodstock". Among the songs she wrote and sang the most famous version of "Big Yellow Taxi", "You turn me on, I'm Radio", "Circle Game", "Free Man in Paris", "River", "Help" and "Chelsea Morning".
Music Joni Mitchell influenced Tori Amos, Elvis Costello, Madonna, Mandy Moore, Morrissey and Prince. Her works were covered with Franksinatra, Crow counting, Sarah McLochlan, George Michael and Annie Lennox. Janet Jackson used a sample of "big yellow taxi" in her single "Got" as long as it's gone ".
