Who is Loreen McKenlith?
Loreen McKennitt is a Canadian musician, composer and producer who was born in Morden, Manitoba in Canada 17 February 1957.
After a brief study of veterinary science at the University of Manitoba, she moved to Stratford, Ontario, who tried to create a musical career for herself. Inspired by the book How to shoot and sell its own recordings by Diane Sward Rapaport, in 1985 McKennitt created its own recording company Quinlan Road, which is first located in her house. She also added other tools to her repertoire, including accordion and harp. It followed with seven other albums until 1999:

- lives in Paris and Toronto recorded earlier and released in 1999
During this period, McKennitt's work also began to address a wider audience, after a European tour and the inclusion of her music in the films Highlander 3 , Jade and and in television miniseries. Hiatus followed her work by the random death of her fiance in 1998 and released her other album, AntiTient Muse in 2006 and another live recording, Nights of Alhambra in 2007.
part of the interest in McKennitt's work stems from her selection of texts, for which she used poetry Shakespeare, Tennyson, William Blake, W.B. Yeats and Saint John of the Cross. The songs for which McKennitt is best to know include the following: "Bonny Portmore", "The Bonny Swans", "Lady of Shallott", "The Mummer's Dance" and "The Mystic's Dream".
