What is the root of aorta?

The root of the aorta, also called ascending aorta, is an essential part of a functioning human heart. It is located near the center of the heart, at the beginning of the arched aorta. It is used to collect oxygenated blood, which is drawn from the left ventricle and passes through the descending aort to the rest of the body.
