What is the right brain?
The right brain is the right half of the brain that generally controls the left half of the body. Cerebrum is another word for the entire organ of the brain. The brain is divided into two different hemispheres, each with its own specific set of functions. Spatial awareness, body image, face recognition and visualization are considered to be the role of the right brain.
Each half of the brain is associated with the second corpus callosum. Different areas of brain control of individual thought processes and functions. It consists of frontal, parietal, time and rear lobes. In each area there are other divisions known as Gyri and Sulci, as well as areas of the bark, such as the motor cortex that controls certain muscles. For example, Paul Broc has worked with Afázice patients who lost the ability to speak for heading. As a result of Broc's experiments and others, it is believed that the left brain is responsible for language, speech, mathematics and logical thinking. Another work examining the nature of the left and right brain was carried out by Roger Sperry in a set of divided brain studies. He was able to test every side of the brain isolated in patients who had their corpus Callosum interrupted to treat and contain epileptic seizures.
Sperry's study found that patients who only had the proper function of the brain could not read words or answer questions by speaking. However, they could read and choose written words for simple relationships and comparisons. This meant the right brain of Could still controls the non -verbal language. It has also been found that the correct brain can be responsible for uncontrolled language reactions and automatic use of certain words, for example in response to something that is suddenly happening.
The brain hemisphere research is still evolving. Now there are new indications that even whenIt can be the left brain that primarily controls language in terms of speech, it can actually be the right brain that processes the abstract function of the language as a series of symbols and images. In all cases, brain activity is dependent on individuals and findings are only general rules that apply to most of the population.
