What Are Gauge Blocks?
Gage block is a standard end-face measuring tool without scale. Its manufacturing material is special alloy steel, and its shape is a cuboid structure. There are two mutually parallel, extremely smooth and flat measuring surfaces in six planes. The precise working dimensions are between the two measuring surfaces. In the middle standard measuring tool, or as a standard part to adjust the zero position of the instrument during relative measurement, you can also use it to directly measure the part. [1]

- The measuring block is a measuring instrument with a rectangular or circular cross section and a pair of parallel measuring surfaces with accurate dimensions. The main characteristics of the measuring block are: simple shape, stable value, good abrasion resistance, and easy to use. In addition to using each piece individually as a specific quantity, it can also be combined into a variety of different sizes as required. Uses of the gauge block: 1. As a length standard, transfer the size value; 2. For checking the indication error of measuring teeth; 3. As a standard part, use the comparison method to measure the size of the workpiece, or to calibrate and adjust the measuring instrument. Zero position; 4, used to directly measure the size of the part; 5, used for precision machine tool adjustment and precision marking in mechanical processing.
