What is the foot?
4 Other nations use another measuring system for their timber and wood. The foot on the board consists of a piece of wood, which is one square by one inch (about 2 360 cubic centimeters). The foot on the board applies to harsh or unfinished timber, not the dimension of lumber that has been completed and planned, and will therefore be slightly smaller. As a result, the actual measurement may vary from measuring. In the case of the foot on the board, it is important to note that the measurement is applied before the timber completion. As a shortcut method, if the measurement begins to rise on thousands of legs on the board, it is added to the abbreviation, as at 19 MFBM, which means "19 thousand legs on the board". Others change measurements to millions: 3 IMFBM are three million legs of the board.
One of the common applications of the foot measurement is to evaluate the value of a tree or stand of trees. Calculations can be used to determine how many legs on the board will be harvested, which in turn determines the value of the stand. It is not unusual that the value of a single large tree, which is also to be expressed in the legs on board, partly, so that the person seller knows the tree how much lumber has been extracted from the tree and how much it is owed.
The value of the wood is determined by more factors than the legs on the board that can be extract. The quality of wood is also important. x The amount of legs from one tree tends to be more valuable than the same amount of multiple trees. This is partly because if the wooden comes a single tree, very large boards and leaves can be cut out. This is also because the wood can be denser and higher quality due to the age of the tree.
