VUE interface and process

In stand-alone mode, Vue xStream operates in the same way as Vue Infinite. The features described on this page are fully applicable to Vue Infinite.
Vue's design shares the same philosophy as other e-on products, namely a clean and tidy user interface designed from the user's perspective. All functions and controls are hidden in the deep panel and can be easily called when needed. The combination of powerful functions and simple operations provides you with a faster workflow and higher output, while making the import from other applications smoother.
Advanced OpenGL Engine
Vue's OpenGL preview engine maximizes the efficiency of high-end GPUs and multi-core systems. The engine is complemented by a powerful multi-threaded architecture, which can effectively utilize high-performance graphics cards to produce high-quality visual performance.
The OpenGL preview engine has three working modes:
Software: Previews are generated by the CPU to maximize compatibility with older video boards
Fixed Pipeline Engine: Powerful GPU rendering preview using OpenGL 1.2
Shader Engine: Previews are rendered using advanced GPU shaders for the most accurate real-time performance.
Display Options
Includes wireframe display option boxes, fill boxes, wireframes, flat shadows, and smooth shadows. These options can be set individually for each object and display window. Fog, scene lights, shadows and video frame guides can also enable Open GL displays.
Dynamic Plant Display Optimization
The quality of the plant preview can be dynamically adjusted on a global basis based on the number and complexity of the displayed plants, and user settings such as the target frame rate. Within the limits you set in the display options, the engine tries to represent as much plant detail as possible.
OpenGL Sky Preview with Clouds
The sky preview uses a step-by-step refinement method to provide a picture of the sky and clouds with gradually full details (for best results, this preview uses multiple CPU calculations). Cloud preview can be disabled if needed. Camera exposure can be automatically reflected in OpenGL to provide more accurate scene previews (shader engine only). This option can also be disabled.
Interactive Cloud Control
Cloud layers can be processed like normal objects. When a layer appears in the Window of the World browser, it can be moved, rotated, and resized with standard manipulation wireframes. You can also use Vue's standard anime production tools to control the movement and speed of the cloud!
Realistic MetaCloud Preview
MetaClouds are represented as a series of shadow particles that represent their own final characteristics.
Realistic Sun Shadows
Real sun projection can be implemented in OpenGL. This gives immediate feedback to the sun projection in the final render.
Colored EcoSystem Billboards
Changes to the ecosystem instance colors are displayed in the Vue OpenGL viewport. This way you can better grasp the final rendering effect immediately. Shadow bulletin boards can provide the best visual effects and effectively represent a large number of ecosystem examples.
Customize Vue using Python Scripting
Vue comes with an extensible architecture that can be programmed across platform standards using Python application scripts. With Python scripts, you can use hundreds of internal structures and functions to formulate or automate tasks, or create entirely new rendering effects, ecosystem functions, animation scripts, and load / export programs customized for your internal file formats.
Sample Scripts
Vue contains dozens of example scripts that add functionality and illustrate some of the potential of Python scripts. All have ample file support and can be used as a basis for you to start customizing your scripts.
Customize Interfaces
Vue's powerful parameter publishing features have been extended, and now you can create high-level interfaces. You can create simplified advanced controls and call them directly from the Material Editor, Terrain Editor, or Object Editor! You can get the functionality of the function graph without opening the function editor! Advanced parameters can be animated through the timeline, including published material parameters. This gives you unprecedented control over the animation of your materials.
Playback Repetitive Tasks with Macro Automation
Macros can easily automate repetitive tasks by recording actual user interactions and saving them as XML files. Press the "Record Macro" button to start recording a series of operations and save them as macros to disk. Press the "Play Macro" button to replay any pre-recorded macro. After setting up common macros, you can use the "Macro Quick Start" dialog box for quick startup. You can also use this dialog box to assign shortcuts to frequently used macros.
Inviting, Easy-to-Use Interface
New Interface Design
One of the features of Vue 9 is a new interface design that is rationalized for better integration with existing pipelines.
Multi-Threaded Interface
Vue's interface is completely multi-threaded, and time-consuming programs run in the background, so it will not slow down work even when carrying out large projects.
Viewport Display Options
Switch between four windows and single window with one click. There are also normal and expert (full screen) modes to choose from. In these four viewing modes, you can freely organize or resize the display window. You can change the size of the camera preview and the window of the world browser. Real-time docking and floating timeline can be realized online, hide and show various interface elements.
Perspective View
Perspective view lets you pan, rotate and zoom the camera view. You can also use camera controls for perspective views.
Background Image
You can place a background reference image in any orthogonal display window.
Units and Conventions
Vue can display real metric and imperial units. Grid snaps can be achieved online and in real time when moving or rotating objects. The grid resolution and rotation snap values can be user-defined. You can also set the value of Vue's internal units to adjust the zoom scale of the panorama. You can also choose Y or Z as the upper axis.
Interface Colors
You can individually modify the colors of 37 different kinds of interface elements to achieve the most comfortable working environment you think. To quickly create a comfortable working environment, you can choose to use a preset that replicates the color schemes of your most used applications.
Visual Browsers
The visual browser lets you organize the folders in your collection. Each item in the collection comes with a preview and description.
Real-World Units
Real units are available throughout the application: in the material editor, in the terrain editor, in the function editor ... You can set the scale of the irregular shards in a unit you understand; you can scale the terrain according to real metrics-Vue to solve all the complex transformations!
Automatic Range Adaption
Automatic adaptation makes it easy to create function graphs with exported parameters. When you connect a node to an exported parameter, the input range is automatically adjusted to match the standard range of the parameter.
Time-Saving Tools and Helpers
Diagnosis Tools
To make it easier to detect rendering bottlenecks and optimize rendering time, Vue has the ability to generate diagnostic information on the rendering. For each pixel, it includes: the total rendering time of the pixel,
Number of anti-aliased rays,
Number of texture anti-aliasing examples,
The number of sub-rays in this pixel,
Number of shadow rays,
Sub-ray maximum recursion depth
And the number of samples that the pixel finally gathers.
This diagnostic information is also available in separate render channels, and each channel can be viewed directly in the render output window. Use the icons in the rendered output window to instantly switch between Color, Alpha, Z-Depth and Diagnosis.
Diagnostic channels can be generated on request (will slightly increase the overhead of the rendering program). The diagnostic channel gives you a better understanding of the overall rendering process.
Multi-Materials
Multi-material allows you to change all the materials of any given object in one operation. Multiple materials can be saved for future use. You can also copy and paste or drag between different objects in the scene.
Color Map and Filter Editors
The color map and filter editor can realize the movement of the key point group, and the change of the hue, saturation and luminosity of the key point group. You can also invert filters and color maps, copy and paste keyframe groups, and more.
Auto Saving and Scene Snapshots
Have you ever wanted to restore a scene to its state a few minutes ago but forgot to save it? Ever lost hours of work due to system errors? Autosave is the best solution! The unique and innovative technology developed by e-on can automatically save scenes in the background without reducing the speed of work! When you work, Vue will automatically create a scene backup, and the screenshot option allows you to create a scene backup instantly with the click of a button. This way you can quickly revert to the previous scene and undo the unwanted changes (beyond the undo / repeated limit).
Interactive Texture Placement
The texture layout tool enables interactive placement, rotation, and scaling of texture maps applied to objects.
Texture Resizing
The Window of the World browser includes an option to easily change the size of oversized texture maps. This operation is non-destructive, and the original texture map can be restored at any time if needed. You can also limit the resolution of imported textures when importing content from other applications.
Dumping Textures
All texture maps of the project can be easily dumped to a folder of your choice and automatically relinked to that location. This feature is especially effective when sharing large amounts of data with colleagues. At the same time, when all the bitmap data is collected to a network location, this function can also help speed up network rendering.
Viewing Textures
In the Window of the World browser, double-clicking a texture map will open a full-resolution image using the external bitmap application of your choice. Missing textures are identified as broken links.
Drop and SmartDrop Tools
The standard projection function can simply project the object onto the surface below it, while the intelligent projection tool tries to place the projected object in a natural way. For example, if a carton is projected onto an inclined plane, the carton is tilted to be parallel to the inclined plane.
The Interactive Alignment Tool
With this handy tool, you can interactively align one to three axes at the same time and preview the results in the display window.
The Quick Array Tool
This powerful tool lets you create multiple copies by interactively transforming one copy of an object. All instances obtained will automatically inherit the transformation in insert or extrapolate mode.
The Scatter / Replicate Tool
Use this tool to quickly generate multiple instances of an object with precise control over distance, size, and rotation, or to randomly spread instances in a specific area with a user-defined size and orientation change.
The Quick Color Selection Tool
Click and hold the mouse button to immediately select the desired color. Use the preset color swatches to easily save and reuse your most commonly used colors.
Catmull-Clark Subdlision Catmull-Clark
To improve compatibility with other applications, Vue 9.5 xStream will be paired with Catmull-Clark and Loop subdivision options. You can manually set the subdivision level for real-time performance and rendering time. The new subdivision algorithm and perfect normal maps absolutely guarantee compatibility with other applications, such as 3ds Max, MudBox, ZBrush, etc.
