What are surface resistors?
surface assembly resistors are resistors that are specially designed and manufactured to be soldered directly to the surface of the plate with the perimeter. This is, unlike the second grade of resistors, through openings whose lines are located through the openings of the flat circuit boards and then fried on the plate. Resistors on the surface have gained enormous popularity in the electronic industry and largely replaced resistors through openings due to their extreme efficiency and easy use. In addition to being smaller in size and space for saving circuit, they allow extreme efficiency in the automation process.
The unique characteristic for surface resistors is that they have a short line or no line at all. Typical resistors usually have two long wires connected to their end so that they can be placed in the drawers of the cutting board or be inserted through the holes of the printed plates to connect to the perimeter. Resistance to the surfaces are connected to the plate by located directly on its surface, so their wires are thereforeSignificantly shorter. Many surface mounting resistors are actually made without conductors; Instead, they have metal cards or contacts on the lower surfaces to serve as an electrical contact. As a result, the surface resistors are convenient because they are smaller in size, and thus take less space on the circuit board, leading to a higher density of the circuit.
surface resistors are also unique because they have a different encoding system that represents their resistance value. Instead of having the color code for encoding the resistance value, as the resistors do through the hole, they monitor the numerical coding system. They usually have three numbers on them, with the first two numbers are a significant digit and the third number is the power of 10 that the first two numbers will be multiplied to provide the overall resistance value. For example, if it has a resistor of the surface assembly "451", for example, it has a resistance of 450 ohms. Two exceptions from this rightIdla are resistors with values of less than 10 ohms that use "R" to represent the location of a decimal point, and accurate resistors that use four digits to represent the resistance value, the first three are significant digits, and the fourth is the power of 10 to multiply the first three numbers to provide the total resistance value.
Specialized resistor -entering machines can easily place and connect surface mounting resistors on the circuit board. This significantly reduces the cost of the workforce that the engineer manually mandates components on the board, and this significantly increases the rate of production. These advantages are the reason why surface assembly resistors continue to increase increasing use.
