What are the benefits of AVI format?
Audio Video Interleave (AVI) is a means of digital storage of sound content and video media to a playback file. The AVI format, introduced at the beginning of the 90s, is a built -in function of the Windows® Computer Operation System (OS). Avi-formatted files use the .Avi file extension and consists of a header, followed by a series of pieces of information. Part of the AVI file header provides details of the file content, such as width, height and frame frequency, while pieces of information store real audio and video data. The key advantage of AVI format is its ability to play on most computers around the world.
In order to play a media set of any format - including AVI format - a compatible software program that understands the details of the file content. If the software program is not suitable for opening and playing a media file, the user is presented to the user with the Windows® dialog box, with Windows® unable to open the file. Then JSOU provided options that allow the user to select the program from the list of available software, or use a website to find a program. AVI usually eliminates the need for a program selection.
During the years of establishing AVI format, many video techniques have been introduced that were not conceived during the definition of AVI specification. Moreover, the compression schemes used to optimize space requirements when writing AVI files are not as effective as techniques used in recently developed media formats. Therefore, the AVI format requires approximately 5 megabytes (MB) of storage for every hour of video and does not support the ability to specify media details such as aspect ratio, time codes, or audio sampling frequencies below 32 kilohertz (KHz).
Many newer media formats of files with the Internet, including OGG, MOV and Nut. However, a group of film experts (MPEG) appears as a scienceHozes the standard and continues to increase popularity. Software programs to support and play MPEG media files are included in Windows® and Mac® operating systems.
