What is a Digital Fingerprint?

As an important branch of information hiding, digital fingerprints are mainly used for copyright protection, and its research has important significance. Digital fingerprint is to embed different iconic identification codes, fingerprints, into digital media using digital watermark technology, and then distribute the digital media embedded with fingerprints to users. When publishers discover piracy, they can extract the fingerprints of pirated products, determine the source of illegal copying, and sue pirates, thereby playing a role of copyright protection.
