What Is a Field Emission Display?

Field emission display (field emission display; FED) is a flat display method that uses a field emission cathode to bombard a phosphor coating as a luminescent medium. The principle of light emission is as follows: a high voltage is introduced into the vacuum band between the transmitting and receiving electrodes to generate an electric field, so that the electric field stimulates the electrons to strike the phosphor under the receiving electrode, thereby generating a light emitting effect.
