Global smartphone is a personal communication device with worldwide skills. The smartphone itself is a pocket communicator with models offered by several different telecommunications companies. The global smartphone contains abilities far beyond the original concept of the phone and receiving voice broadcasts. In their advertising, telecommunications companies often report the number of countries in which their global smartphones can send and receive data. The number of countries ranges from 150 to 200.

Other known manufacturers such as Windows Mobile®, Linux®, Android ™ from Google® and Palm® OS, developed by Palmsource, offer consumers global Smartphone operating systems.
