What is a Radar Gun?
A radar gun is a small Doppler radar, also known as a speedometer or speed radar, which is generally used to measure the speed of a car to check whether the vehicle complies with the speed limit regulations.

- The simplest radar gun consists of a radio wave transmitter and receiver. The transmitter sends out a radio wave signal, and the receiver accepts the part of the signal that is reflected by the object being measured. If the measured object has a relative speed to the radar gun, the frequency of the signal it reflects will change. The radar gun calculates the speed of the object based on this frequency change. [1]
- The radar gun was invented in March 1954, and was first used in the United States in April of the same year.
