What is a stereo equalizer?

The stereo equalizer is a tool or method used to adjust sound amplification at different frequencies. Frequency in this sense refers to the sound playground rather than the frequency of radio or television broadcasting. The method and complexity of the stereo equalizer differ very much depending on the type of device.

The simplest form of stereo equalizer is nothing but hi-fi, which contains separate controls for bass and heights. They represent lower and higher audio frequencies. More complicated home equipment could have five or more adjustable frequencies, while professional recording and playback equipment could have up to 30. In professional use, it will generally be marked with accuracy frequency, even if the controls are not often marked in home use. Cheaper home stereo systems can have switches, which means that only fixed levels can be used, such as high, medium and low. A more sophisticated home equipment uses code lodges or sliders to allow dtake off more accurate changes. Computer equipment can be used in professional settings so that the input can be an accurate number.

The most portable music equipment such as MP3 player has some form of stereo equalizer. In some cases, this allows you to set different frequencies to specific levels. The function is more often limited to switching from different preset levels corresponding to a particular type of music. In general, this is done to emphasize the frequency of the most commonly used style of music. For example, the "pop" setting can increase higher frequencies to give more importance to the vocals, while the "dance" setting could emphasize lower frequencies to hear the bass effects easier.

Many forms of stereo equalizer are also known as graphics equalizer. This term is usually used to indicate the settings in which the levels can actually be seen in a row. This can be achieved either with lights, the display startstacs, or simply by placing vertical sliding controls. These slider checks are technically known as potentiometers. In almost any case, the lowest frequency is displayed on the left and the highest transport. This effectively means that the display shows a graph of the modified audio and renders the level of profit against frequency.
