What is an 8mm video tape?
Video Tape is a method introduced in the mid -20th century, recording video and sound on a thin magnetic tape unlike the film movie. Since then, many video tape formats have been used, with 8mm video tape being one of the common formats. In fact, this format refers to three narrowly related video tape formats, all of which are 0.315 inches wide (eight mm). This format is completely analogue and the resolution of recorded images is somewhat low. However, its low costs have made video8® widely used format. Video8® was monitored by a higher resolution format, Hi-8®, which came in half an hour, hourly and two-hour length.
Both of these formats were analogue and could not be played in the video tape video tape (VCR). In order to display recording, the user had to connect the video camera with a cable to VCR or TV file, D Play the tape using the camera as a source. Later, a much better format called Digital8® was introduced. But because of the way, jaWho has been designed digital trucks, use twice as many tapes. For example, a two-hour HI-8® or VIDEO8® can only record 60 minutes of video in the digital8® video camera.
In all three 8mm formats, the magnetic tape wound around two plastic coils inside the hard outer housing. Their size is not much larger than a typical audio cassette, but they work much more like videotapes. The 8mm video tape is used almost exclusively for the filming of amateur domestic movies and similar recordings, but has seen the use of other ways. For example, Sony ™ suddenly produced professional quality equipment and production for a video that used 8mm video tape. Many airlines also accepted the 8 mm format in the 80s for playing films in flight.
As with all magnetic tape media, the 8mm video tape is susceptible to the signs of deterioration and loss recordedof the content over time. The usable life of the belts can be prolonged by preventing direct sunlight in a dry environment without dust. Even with these preventive measures, it is good to transfer videos from 8mm video tape to another, more durable format if protection is required.
