What is Xbee® Shield?
Shield Xbee® is an electronic device that works with Open-source software known as Arduino®-environment platforms that allows users to easily write and record the code to the input/output board (I/O). The open source platform runs on many operating systems (OS), is written with Java and is based on other different types of software that are open-source, such as processing and AVR-GCC. Arduino® software can be downloaded online and can integrate this shield as part of the platform.
Using Shield Xbee®, Arduino® enables Zigbee ™ wirelessly communicate wirelessly. The shield comes from the base of another Xbee® module and is able to communicate up to 100 feet (30.5 meters) inside and up to 300 feet (91.4 meters) outside. It can also be used to replace series and USB or insert into a configuration command mode to a number of network options, including network network and broadcasting. Xbee® Shield has pins protruding from the solder pad, including the female type for analog input useTí between pins 2 and 7. This particular shield will not prevent pins 8 to 13 and can be used plates.
various Xbee® modules can be used with Xbee® Shield and instructions can be found online for any series of these modules. Some parameters in networks using Xbee® shield, such as addressing and configuration, need to be set to work properly. The default setting of modules and shields usually allows two devices to communicate with each other. If they are not correctly configured, they must be set to the same channel and network. The channel sets the parameter according to the name "CH parameter". The network sets another parameter according to the name "ID parameter".
Xbee® Shields also have two jumpers, which are Labeled As Xbee®/USB. These jumps determine how the serial communication of this shield connects to the serial communication of the microcontroller. Skompy can be set to Xbee® position where two pins face the interiorPlates or position of USB where two pins point to the edge of the board. In Xbee®, the module connects and communicates with the Xbee® shield. Switching to the USB position allows the module to connect and communicate with the computer.
Shield Xbee® has been improved and modified during life. Some revisions have minor marking and spacing problems solved, remaining functionally the same. The latest version works with the 1 and 2.5 Xbee® series modules.
