What is Basicx ™?
Basicx ™ is a computer programming language designed by Netmedia, Inc. For use with BX-24P ™ microcontroller. It is based on a language for beginners versatile symbolic instruction code (basic). Basicx ™ and associated products offered by Netmedia, Inc. They are mainly used in robotics, satellite equipment, rocket equipment or other machines where complex microcontrollers are needed.
John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz, professors at Dartmouth College, invented Basic in the early 1960s as a way to allow students outside science and mathematical fields to program and use computers. At that time, only its own software could be used on computers that limited use for people who were able to design their own software. Basic has become a very popular and widely used in the next two decades. Today, some modified versions of the original "dialects" are still used, but it was also the starting point for the development of newer languages, including Microsoft® VISual Basic®.
BX-24P ™ is the most popular product that uses Basicx ™. It has 16 I/O lines, eight analog inputs and 400 RAM. The BX-24P ™ can perform 83,000 instructions per second, has a chip controller and low voltage reset and has two LEDs for reading information. It is considered to be the strongest microcontroller available in its size.
In order to use the BX-24P ™ controller and language, the computer must meet certain requirements. Supported operating systems include Microsoft® Windows® 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP. The computer must have Intel® Pentium® or faster processor, at least 16 MB RAM and at least 10 MB of free space on the hard disk. Software and associated documents can be downloaded online.
Customers wishing to order a driver can visit the Basicx ™ website or contact one of the product distributors. There are eight Distri in North AmericaButors. These include Netmedia, Inc. In Arizona, CSMicro Systems in Nevada and Robodyssey Systems, Inc. in New Jersey. There are 14 other distributors around the world.
Basicx ™ support is available from two main sources. First there is a server of the list offered by Netmedia, Inc and Yahoo! ® Groups that allow users to communicate with each other. Customers can publish and respond to questions as well as access to an area that offers an example of code. Second, users can email the Customer Support Team by completing the form on the Basicx ™ website. In addition, because Basicx ™ is a free language, there are other websites that offer advice on how to apply it in specific situations.
