What is Transparency Paper?

Transparent paper is a synthetic paper that can be made transparent by adding acrylic resin to the pulp during papermaking. Hiroyuki Yano and others at Kyoto University in Japan reported that they had achieved this result in collaboration with researchers at the Japan Paper Institute. The researchers treated the pulp with chemicals to make the pulp difficult to absorb water, and then made it into a thin film, immersed in a transparent acrylic resin, and then used ultraviolet to harden and combine the pulp and acrylic resin.
