What is TRI-BAND technology?
The
Tri-Band Technology concerns portable communication devices (generally mobile phones), which operates over three broadband frequencies instead. Three -band phones, sometimes referred to as "world phones", offer the ability to send and receive calls through a larger geographical range. The three most common frequencies are GSM900 and GSM1800, which are used in most parts of the world, and the GSM1900, which is mostly used in the western hemisphere. When the call is included, the mobile phone searches for a signal from the nearest tower that may or may not belong to a specific provider. All service -based service providers allow you to call others to browse through all towers regardless of ownership, allowing them to provide services in any area where towers exist. This is what allows the user a larger range of roaming, even an international coupling than other network technologies.

Although the mobile phone is three-way, all frequencies may not be activated by default and the service provider should be notified if the phone is to be used overseas. Phones purchased with service contracts may be locked because although this technology is a triple-band, the service carrier does not have international agreements on roaming, so the phone will not work at international level. If the phone is not locked, you can buy a SIM card from a target country that would reduce fees per minute (because it would not count as roaming), but the phone number can change throughout the stay.
