What Is a Community Development Committee?
Referred to as "neighborhood committee", "community neighborhood committee", "community residents committee" is a community organization in urban streets and administrative towns in mainland China, that is, "community", is an autonomous organization of urban residents. The work services are mainly for non-agricultural residents in cities and towns.

- According to the Organic Law of the Residents Committee, its team is composed of five to nine people; they are the director, deputy directors, and members. Each term of the residents' committee is five years, and its members can be re-elected.
- The residents' committee decides the problem and adopts the principle of minority obeying the majority. People's mediation, public security, and public health committees can be set up as needed.
- Residents' committees can be divided into several residents' groups, and the group leader is elected by the residents' group. The working funds and sources of the residents' committees are stipulated and allocated by the higher government.
- The principle of generation is determined by elections. The method of election may be attended by more than half of the residents, representatives of the households or representatives of the residents group, and passed by more than half of the participants.
