Friends, mentors, and heroes 220
I have thought about this book for some time.
I take pictures every day. I am a narrator and this is the best and most appropriate way for me to communicate with the outside world. I want to share what I'm lucky to see with others and spread it as widely as possible.
In my bones, I am very willing to impart my photography experience to others, and I am also very willing to share my photography knowledge with others. In turn, it is this kind of willingness that made me meet a lot of mentors and friends who follow my photography path.
The reason I like to shoot sports photography was when I was in my twenties and was a regular photographer hired by the Miami Herald. Compared with today, the photography technology at that time is completely different: the slow response of the lens and the camera must be manually focused, which makes the shooting more difficult, and the frames that can be captured are much less. Since the main use of cross-roll shooting was at that time, more light was needed, which allowed me to choose very little, and the process of image processing was particularly time-consuming. Before pressing the shutter, two points must be guaranteed: first, the image must be clear; second, the captured image must record important moments.
In the early 1990s, I became a member of the Sports Illustrated photography team. Since then, I have traveled all over the world, filming and reporting on those sports events you can see.
In some of the world's most grand sports events, the organizing committee often arranges the best place for me. But I think the first priority of shooting is whether you can take meaningful pictures, not where you shoot. Shooting a small league game is just as important as shooting a world professional baseball game.
Over the past 25 years, I have covered 10 Olympic Games, 25 Super Bowls, 10 Basketball Championships hosted by the National College Student Sports Association, 25 Kentucky Horse Races, and any major sporting events in the period. In 1991, at their home in New Orleans, Airy Manning was only 10 years old. He and his father were training at the time, and shooting such a shot was no less precious than when Manning won the Super Bowl in 2012. Screen.
This book is not just to teach you how to shoot sports photography, but to teach you to look for it with your heart, then pick up the camera to record that moment.
The goal of this book is in the field of sports photography. Although the ability to produce pictures is constantly developing, the core photography elements have not changed. Increasingly new cameras-these cameras are also equipped with larger and larger sensors, faster and faster lenses, and larger and larger memory card capacities, all of which are driving more and more people into Sports photography. Discover iconic movements, capture different styles of athletes, and feel the cheers of the audience, all of which will make you feel the extraordinary charm of sports events. These elements are the essence of sports photography, they will not be, and will not change in the future.
This book will reveal to readers my photography experience and shooting methods. The content ranges from how to use photographic equipment to how to enter the event scene for shooting. In the book, I will like to show how I do sports shooting, and I will discuss with you how to compose and shoot according to different events.
For whom this book is written It is well known that photographers have varying levels of photography, and this book is written for photographers who want to improve their photography. This book will show readers how to use pictures to tell the whole process of conceiving exciting moments, from capturing the penultimate action to glorious moments outside the game. Of course, shooting skills are also very important. For this reason, in my book, I not only focus on explaining the use of shooting tools, but more importantly, I also interpret my selection. Where do I choose to shoot and why do I stand here to shoot, squat, kneel, or sit?
The purpose of this book is to teach readers to shoot sports, whether it is a novice photographer, amateur or experienced photographer, you can learn useful things and learn how to make your photography. The work became the focus of audience attention.
Shooting sports pictures If you want to successfully report sports events, photographers must conceive of all aspects of shooting in advance, and must grasp the motivation and response of the athletes' actions. In other words, you should have the expected results before shooting, and you must be prepared to do enough work, and let the pictures you take "impress".
It is important to understand the sports that athletes engage in, that is, to understand the personality of the participants and the development trend of the sport. But the most important thing is to know yourself, to be ready to react, and to be ready to capture great shots.
My experience in shooting sports events is to take pictures with sportsmanship and passion. Of course, sometimes it takes some luck. But more often, sports photography is a passionate activity that combines art, commerce, and advocating sports. Through personal participation and observation, photographers can have a huge impact on society by shooting works. I want to capture those peak moments, hoping to be able to define sports events in a way that allows the audience to be inspired and arouse their passion for sports.
Sports photography is inseparable from movement and emotion, style and scene, shooting location and target. The highest state of shooting is that the pictures are very artistic and contain elements that advocate sports.
