On January 12, 2015, the "United Nations Sustainable Development Advisory Committee" initiated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was established in Beijing.

The committee is made up of Chinese business leaders who have made outstanding contributions to sustainable development. The permanent chairman of the committee is Ms. Wen Jiejie, the country director of the United Nations Development Programme China. Baidu President Zhang Yaqin was elected as a founding member of the committee and became a founding member The leaders also include 8 people including Gree Electric Chairman Dong Mingzhu and BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu.

All founding members signed the Declaration on Sustainable Development at the inaugural meeting, promising to support the implementation of the global sustainable development goals, providing advice and suggestions for sustainable development, and providing technical knowledge and support in other areas. ^[1]
