The 2000-style trial suit completely removed the militarized decoration, highlighting the characteristics of civilian, political and legal officials of the judges of the People's Republic of China; the design of the judge's robe completely originated from China's 5,000 years of civilization.
On March 10, 2000, at the Third Session of the Ninth National People's Congress, Xiao Yang, the president of the Supreme People's Court, wore a new 2000-style judge uniform and made a report on the work of the People's Court to the people's congress. Xiao Yang's dress immediately caught people's attention. On that day, domestic and foreign media reported one after another: Chinese judges were about to change to new clothes.
In accordance with the design guidelines of the Supreme People's Court, the design of the 2000-style trial suit strives to highlight the image of judges with Chinese characteristics. Yu Zezheng, chief designer of Dalian Bihai Enterprise Group Co., participated in the design of the 2000 style trial suit. He told reporters that after receiving the design requirements, they designed two sets of plans: Zhongshan suits and Zhongshan suit robes; suits and loose cuff robes.
Yu Zezheng emphasized that the design idea of the judge's robe completely originated from China's 5,000 years of civilization. In ancient China, men wore robes and women wore cheongsams. Many well-known western fashion designers always "intentionally" used the ideas of Chinese robes. Judge robes have significant Chinese clothing characteristics. Both sides of the cheongsam were applied to the judge's robe, which ensured that the wearer was dignified and neat when he was questioned in the court. The judge's robes have loose cuffs and stand-up lapels embroidered with the pattern of "natural wheat ears, gears, and Chinese watches", using traditional Chinese embroidery techniques. The bright silk thread is embroidered on the black fabric, which produces an embossed artistic effect and is more contagious. The strong Chinese red on the chest placket hits people's perspective, the golden section of the upper third of the robe, the red traditional Chinese inherent color, gives people great artistic enjoyment.

In the British and American legal tradition, religion and law have a natural relationship, so judicial rituals have a religious sacred color. Take court attire as an example. In Britain, judges still retain the tradition of wearing robes and wigs. "In the minds of continental Europeans, there is often a romantic image of British judges: they are wearing crimson Colored robes, huge wigs, and trials in a magnificent court. " In the United States, British judges have also inherited the tradition of wearing robes in court, but with some reforms, judges generally wear black robes but do not wear wigs.
