Home care assistant is responsible for the care of a person who is forced to stay at home. Disabilities or older people especially need care assistants who can help them in their daily lives. Patients sometimes have trouble doing the simplest things like going to the toilet, drinking a glass of water or even walking. Sometimes the assistants would go on an extra mile and maintain a house such as washing the laundry, cooking food and cleaning.

The working hours of the home care assistant may vary depending on the patient's needs. Some work only during the day, some during the night and others even stay permanently with their ownpatients. For all responsibilities, the home care assistant needs many skills and training as well as healthy thinking so that she can perform her tasks well. It should also have qualities such as patience, compassion and empathy, because work requires that the assistant be sensitive to her patient's needs. A friendly personality is also an attribute that benefits both the patient and the home care assistant.
