What is computer software engineering?

Computer software engineering is the whole process of planning, designing and developing computer software product. The term software engineering concerns specifically a complex, disciplined and systematic approach used to create and maintain software. Many people use this term to explain the skills needed to create and support software products.

In order to become a computer software engineer, candidates must complete a university degree in computer science. Although some schools offer the main engineering of computer software, it is not very common. In general, the required skills are already included in the computer science program and has the advantage of being a recognized discipline. The computer software engineering field is relatively new and may require more time to become widely adopted.

The profession itself is not licensed or regulated in the same way as engineers. There are several different initiatives on the license of this group of professionalsfessionals, withdifferent degrees of success. In the United States, the institute of electric and electronic engineers (IEEE) created a license program for computer software engineers, but has limited acceptance. In Europe and Canada, the profession is regulated and candidates must meet specific requirements for education and experience to become a professional computer software engineer.

The primary focus in this area is the development of the methodology surrounding the creation of new software products. IEEE has developed a manual called Software Engineering Soudy of Knowledge (Svebok). This book is considered a standard level of knowledge that a software engineer in North America should have a work experience after four years. There were many discussions about the validity of the book as a source at the international level, because many institutions were not consulted.

Csoftware Engineering Omputer can be divided into several sub-containers, including rushRHU software, testing and maintenance. Overall, IEEE is officially recognized by 10 different sub-plastic. However, other areas continue to develop and it can be some time before the list is considered complete.

Many people who want to become a computer software engineer start their career as a computer programmer or developer. The traditional career journey is to start in this area and then look for a promotion opportunity for a software engineer after eight to 10 years of work experience. This career journey requires further education and training during this period, because technology and methodology are constantly changing. The demand for engineering in computer science is expected to grow above -average growth over the next five to eight years. As opportunities grow, there should be greater clarification and development of an internationally accepted standard for professional recognition in this field.
