What Is LEED CI?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building evaluation system. The purpose is to effectively reduce the negative impact of the environment and residents in the design. The purpose is to standardize a complete and accurate green building concept and prevent excessive greening of buildings. LEED was established by the US Green Building Council and launched in 2000. It has been listed as a mandatory standard in some states and some countries in the United States.

LEED

LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED)
Established and promoted by the U.S. Green Building Council
LEED is aimed at project groups that are willing to lead the market and adopt green building technology applications relatively early. LEED certification as an authoritative third-party assessment and certification results is very helpful to improve the reputation of these green buildings in the local market and obtain high-quality property valuations. Although the pioneers who are extremely enthusiastic about the innovation of green building applications are not the target group of the LEED assessment criteria, LEED still provides a mechanism to encourage the use of innovative green building technologies. These innovative technologies provide a reference for the measures that LEED encourages in the future. Similarly, as LEED continues to push green building applications into the mainstream of the construction market, the entire industry is gradually improving and improving. The level requirements will also be raised accordingly to meet the market group targeted by LEED, namely the early adopters of green building technology. For a "market transformation" strategy to succeed, it is important to understand what factors can drive market change. In fact, we can analyze the various economic, social and environmental changes and impacts that are closely related to the general public in reality. Many institutions' research reports have not noticed that the research results have to go through the media. Propaganda can finally become Public Opinion. Only when people feel that the results of various research reports are closely related to their daily lives, and the media also contribute to the reporting of research results, can these research reports really have an impact on and change the market. Generally speaking, people often have different practices in the following four aspects:
1. Change the purchased goods;
2. Select investment goals for bank savings;
3. Vote for the administrative body that supports their interests;
4.Choose the ideal workplace
Therefore, in addition to promoting the various potential benefits of green buildings, the LEED evaluation system is more important to tell consumers that purchasing green buildings will be more value for money and more profitable than other products. Consumers' purchase decisions make the actual value of green buildings higher, which differentiates them from other products. This constitutes a virtuous circle, thereby promoting market transformation.
With the formation of the market, companies can choose to buy green buildings, thereby showing their care and social responsibility to their employees, customers and investors. In addition, green buildings will also bring business cost savings, increase employee productivity, and reduce absenteeism due to illness, and help retain outstanding employees, as people tend to work in green buildings. Generally speaking, investing in environmental protection and sustainable development is always a wise and profitable investment direction.
For government agencies at all levels in the United States, investing in green buildings and launching a variety of policy tools that can promote the development of the green building market will build a good image of voters in the minds of the environment and ecology. LEED provides a very good policy tool. In fact, since the introduction of LEED, government agencies have been vigorously promoting and adopting LEED certification standards, and supporting various tax incentives.

  • registered
To apply for LEED certification, the project team must complete the project registration form and register on the GBCI website, and then pay the registration fee to obtain relevant software tools, errata, and other key information. The project was registered in LEED Online's database.
  • Prepare application documents
Projects applying for certification must fully meet the prerequisites and minimum scores specified in the LEED scoring criteria. In the process of preparing application documents, according to the requirements of each evaluation index, the project team must collect relevant information and make calculations, and prepare relevant information according to the requirements of each index.
  • Submit application documents
Before the final date determined by GBCI's certification system, the project team should upload the complete application documents, pay the corresponding certification fees, and then start the review process.
  • Review application documents
According to different certification systems and audit paths, the review process of application documents is different. Generally includes document review and technical review. GBCI will complete the review of the application documents within one week of receiving the application, mainly based on the requirements in the checklist to check whether the documents are qualified and complete. If the documents submitted are insufficient, the project team will be informed of the lack What information. Once the documents have passed the review, the technical review can begin. GBCI will issue a LEED preliminary review document to the project team within two weeks after the document review is approved. The project team has 30 days to amend and supplement the application and submit it to GBCI again. GBCI finalizes the revised application within 30 days and then recommends a final score to the LEED Steering Committee. The steering committee will make a statement (accept or reject) on this final score within two weeks and notify the project team of the certification results.
  • Award
Within a certain period of time after receiving the LEED certification notification, the project team can respond to the certification results. If there is no objection, the certification process ends. The project is listed as LEED-certified green building, and USGBC will issue a certificate and LEED metal medal to the project team.
