What is political sociology?
Political sociology is the division of social sciences that focus on political groups and leadership in society. More generally, it is the study of the relationship between politics and society. Although there is a debate on the exact nature of the proper focus of the discipline, most experts agree that the idea of power - who holds, has, achieves power, especially in the state and/or civil society - is the basic interest of political sociology.
The relationship between the state and civil society is often considered a key study point due to constant interplay and the struggle for the strength between the two groups. The concept of the state generally takes the form of government and centralized power, most often marked with its militarized and legislative authority, while civil society often refers to organizations such as businesses, churches and trade unions. It is also considered to consider the role of an individual and concept and the interplay between the state and the civil society. Social class theory is often associated with the Marxist theory in which the power of theDisc of the social class controls the prevailing funds of economic production. The elite theory is the theory in which it is considered to be focused in elite groups and societies. In pluralism, it is considered to be the power to spread and share throughout society and institutions.
The term political sociology first appeared in the press in 1905 in the book Review of Alleyne Ireland "The Far East Tropics". His roots, however, stretch into the nineteenth century, where its founders are generally recognized as Moisey Ostrogorsky and Max Weber. Ostrogora was a Belorus political scientist and sociologist famous for his theories at the Party of Systonky and Political Party. Weber was a German historian, sociologist and political economist known for his influence on social theory.
In addition, because of its intensive investigation of socio -economic systems and class struggles, Karl Marx is often associated with political sociologistEspecially in terms of his theory of economic determinism. Political sociology as a field of study in the United States has reached its peak at 60 and 70 years. Concentrations in sociology today tend to study minorities, gender and sex.
