What are the common causes of pus in the nose?

The most common cause of pus in the nose is an infection located somewhere in the nasal cavity. This is often due to the primary disease, which eventually escalates into a sinus infection. Other times, pain or pimple may lead to pus in the nose that comes from the pain itself. If they are caused by sinus infection, other symptoms are often present. Pupimple can "pop" and cause a small amount of pus to leave the nostril.
