What are the different types of diseases of the endocrine system?

The

endocrine system consists of several glands that are responsible for the production and secretion of vital hormones that allow the body to function normally. When one or more of these glands stop functioning properly, different endocrine systemic diseases may occur. The most common disorders affecting the endocrine system include polycystic ovary syndrome, diabetes and thyroid dysfunction. There is a lack of growth hormone when the pituitary does not create sufficient growth hormone, leading to delayed growth patterns in children. Treatment of this endocrine disorder usually involves the use of periodic injections that contain human growth hormone.
