What are the different types of insensitivity?
Numbnys is an abnormality in a sensory function characterized by a reduced or missing feeling. This is usually due to compression or irritation of the peripheral nerve in the body. The location of the branch of the affected nerve usually determines the place of dullness. It can also be the basis for classifying the type of insensitivity. Different types include a finger, hand, leg, arms, leg, thighs and numbness of the face.
Abnormality in sensory symptoms can be a positive or negative phenomenon. Insensitivity is a term used to indicate a negative phenomenon, while paresthesia and dystesis are general terms used to indicate a positive phenomenon. Demonstration of insensitivity in physical examination suggests that in at least half the structure of the peripheral nerve innervating place or region there was damage. Paresthesia concerns the feeling of armor or pegs and jets, while dyshestezia generally refers to all types of abnormal feelings whether the stimulus is present or not. Sonitive phenomena result from excessive activity in peripheral or CENtral sensory path, and they do not necessarily have to be associated with loss of sensation. Other terms used for specific sensory abnormalities with negative phenomena are hypesthesia, anesthesia and hypalgesia or analgesia. Hytestzia concerns the reduction of pressure, light touch and warm or cold temperatures. Anesthesia refers to the absence of pressure, touch of light, warm or cold temperatures and skin feeling. Hypalgesia or analgesia concerns the reduction or absence of pain perception.
Many nerves innervate different parts of the body. Compression or irritation of the branch of the nerve innervating hands can cause a numbness of the hand. The same applies to the branch of the nervous inzing of another body of the body.
This condition is generally harmless, but it may sometimes endanger life. This may be due to nerve damage by trauma, infection or pressure of tumors or enlarged blood vessels as well as certain medicines, radiation therapy and vitami deficiencyNu b
