What Are the Symptoms of Conjunctivitis in Babies?
Neonatal conjunctivitis refers to the penetration of pathogens into the eyes of neonates, causing infections of the eyelid and bulbar conjunctiva. Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common pathogen of neonatal conjunctivitis. Other pathogens such as pneumococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, gonococcus, and herpes simplex virus can cause neonatal conjunctivitis.
