What causes Chalazion?

Eye -known condition as Chalazion is caused by blocking the pipe on the lid and creates a small blow on the lid. It is also known as the Meibomical Grade Lipogranuloma. The pipes can be blocked with stiff oil or in rare cases a tumor. Chalazions are usually harmless. Some disappear without medical treatment, but large chalazions or cancer chalazions may require surgery. These glands produce oil that is part of tears. Each eye has about 100 meibomic glands, which are located on the upper and lower lids, near the algae line.

Meibomian glands have channels that flow oil from the lid. Sometimes these channels are blocked by hardened oil or skin tumor and the results of the Chalazion. It is not an infection, but only blocking.

The physician diagnoses the state by visual examination of the lid. Chalazions look red and swollen. They can also be painful or feel warm due to inflammation. Other symptoms include the aversion to light and more tears production than usual.

chaLazion differs from style. Style is an infection of the gland and usually hurts more than chalazion. Chalazions can heal within a few weeks.

Warm compression placed on the eye several times a day can help soften the oil and solve blocking. Antibiotic eye drops do not help to cure the condition. Medical treatment is usually not necessary, if the Chalazion increases, it is not present for more than one month, or if the algae stain falls out.

Sometimes cottage increases and surgical treatment is required. The surgeon makes a cut from under the eyelid to prevent scarring. Large chalazion can cause vision problems when pushing on the cornea, but these problems disappear if Chalasion is removed. Alternatively, the doctor may prescribe steroid injections. In rare cases, blocking is caused by a skin tumor and in suspicious cases of cancer is performed by a doctor's biopsy.

The only preventive measure for the condition is thoroughCleaning the lid. People who regularly suffer from the condition can use baby shampoo in the eyelash area. Maintaining the oil level down reduces the chance of excess oil blocking pipes.
