What is the Fundus camera?

Fundus is the back of the inner eye and is visible through an ophthalmoscope, a manual device with a light connected to research the retina and other parts of the eyes. The Fundus camera is in fact a microscope that is connected to a digital camera to explore the inner eye. The device is able to take high -resolution photos for monitoring and diagnosing degenerative eyes or trauma. The picture is usually able to see the screen in real time during the procedure. The ophthalmologist may decide to explore the eye using a widespread fundus examination that included a drop of eyes to enlarge the pupil for maximum founding of the fundus.

When browsing and photographing a fundus and other parts of the eye using a Fundus camera, pupils dilatation allows an ophthalmologist to see directly on the back of the eye. All this is achieved without touching the eye itself. After expansion, the doctor is able to check the conditions of drought such as tears of retina, tumors, cataracts and bleeding. Sometimes you can test these testscan detect other diseases such as hypertension or diabetes. Eyes are usually sensitive to light after expansion and can take up to five or six hours.

There are a number of procedures for which Fundus can be used. Angiography is a place where the fluorescent dye is injected into the blood vessels and the camera records the flow of the vein dye in the eyes. This procedure is generally used to diagnose any basic pathologies. Optical coherence tomography is another microscopic imaging technique that allows an ophthalmologist to capture 3D tomogram with high resolution of detailed structures in the eye. Tomography captures images in sections using piercing waves.

Fundus camera is actually a low -power microscope and is sometimes referred to as retina. The eye is one of the few parts of the human body where doctors can witness the flow and circulation of blood in a tiny blood vessels. It gives the camera fuNDUS an important role in the diagnosis of diseases and bleeding before they can cause blindness and affect the body in general. The real light used to observe the eye is converted through multiple lenses. Once the ophthalmologist is ready to take a picture, it suppresses the button and the mirror inside the Fundus camera captures and reflects the light down to the eye itself.
