What is a long uterus?

Although all women are different, the "average" uterus is somewhat pear and in an average adult woman measures about 3 inches (7.6 cm). This does not mean that shape and size changes are never occurred, or that any change in shape and size is considered abnormal. Sometimes an ultrasonic technician or obstetrician can express a comment on the size or shape of the patient's uterine, which calls him a "long uterus". There is no real medical term or the abnormality of the uterus known as a long uterus, but there are different shapes and sizes, as well as abnormalities that can lead to an extended uterus.

The uterus actually changes shape and size during pregnancy. There are several abnormalities of the uterus that are usually not detected until pregnancy, or until more abortions guarantee further examination. A very small percentage of women that occur only in a very small percentage of women include some uterine abnormalities that are marked with the shape of the uterus of two -bookHA and T -shaped uterus. These conditions occur during fetal development and simply indicate that the uterus did not form properly. In some cases, the abortion may be an abnormally shaped uterus.

A long uterus simply means the uterus that is longer than the average. On the contrary, enlarged uterus may indicate medical complications, including incorrectly alignment, endometriosis, fibroids, tumors or complications or condition affecting the surrounding organs such as the bladder.

Most of the uterine abnormalities, especially the shape and size of the uterus, have no symptoms. They are generally discovered as a result of pregnancy and imaging tests as part of prenatal care. In the case of other gynecological or obstetric problems, such as ovarian cysts, abnormal parcels and other conditions, an abnormally shaped uterus course of diagnostic testing may be detected.

If JSYou are aware of the abnormal shape of the uterus and you are worried about how it could affect pregnancy, you should consult with the obstetrician.
