What Is a Testicular Mass?

Whether the scrotal mass is related to the abdomen: Although the scrotum is located in front of and below the pelvis, its internal structure is often connected with the abdomen. If you hold the mass with two fingers at the root of the scrotum, the mass below the finger is a mass within the scrotum; if the mass is between the fingers, it may be lowered from the abdomen. The mass that comes down from the abdomen is mostly an inguinal hernia (also called small bowel gas) or varicocele. The former are mostly lumpy, while the latter are strand-like. When severe, they resemble a tangled earthworm. Their common feature is that they can disappear after lying down.

2 Whether it is substantial or cystic: distinguishing between parenchymal or cystic is important in distinguishing the nature of the mass in the scrotum. The substantial majority are tumors or inflammation. Cysts are mostly cysts or fluid. The solid mass is harder, while the cyst is more flexible or elastic. When using a flashlight to illuminate the bottom of the scrotum in a dark room, it is substantially dark black, and the sac is translucent and red. If it is still difficult to identify, go to the hospital to confirm with B ultrasound.
3 Whether there is pain in the lump: Generally speaking, those who have pain in the solid lump are mostly inflammation, while those who are not in pain may be tumor or tuberculosis. A painful lump outside the testicles may be epididymitis. Painless masses outside the testicles may be tuberculous epididymitis or adenoma-like tumors; painful masses in the testis may be orchitis or testicular torsion, and painless masses may be testicular tumors.
If necessary, go to the hospital for further examination to confirm the diagnosis. After diagnosis, inflammation can be treated with anti-inflammation, small benign masses can be observed temporarily, and the rest need surgery.
