What is angiogram?

Angiogram is a type of medical procedure that allows doctors to see blood flow in a specific artery or vein. The most common use of angiogram is to look at the blood vessels in the heart, lungs or brain, although this procedure can be used for other blood vessels. A small catheter into the blood vessel is inserted into the blood vessel and a small catheter is inserted into the blood vessel. The X -ray is then made so that the doctor can clearly see the blood flow through the blood vessels. The procedure can detect several problems in the blood vessel, including bulging or blockages so that the proper treatment can begin. Some drugs like Aspirin may also be necessary before angiogram. This procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis, although some doctors prefer to stay overnight in the hospital only if complications arise.

begins before Thengogram begins, a small catheter known as IV is inserted into a vein, so any necessary medicines or liquids can be delivered directly to the bloodstream. A local anesthetic is then used to a dull area wherethe procedure will be performed. Thereafter, a very small puncture puncture is made into the leather so that the doctor can gain access to the tested blood vessel.

The blood vessel is inserted a small catheter and a special type of dye containing iodine is injected into the blood vessel. The X -ray machine is then used to take several blood vessel images so that the doctor can evaluate blood flow in the blood vessel. After the procedure is completed, the catheter is removed and ended at the test point for several minutes until the bleeding stops.

After the angiogram, the patient will have to avoid physical activity for several days. To avoid dehydration and help flush the dye from the body, a lot of fluids should be consumed several days after the procedure. The medical staff will provide the patient with detailed instructions to reduce activity and any drugs that may be necessary to use the results of angiogram. Any questions or concerns relate toThe procedure or recovery time should be discussed with a physician or other doctor.
