What is androgyny?

Androgyny is a term that was formulated by the combination of two Greek words. One of these words means a man and another means female. Androgyny was then used to indicate a situation where the sex of a person is not clearly defined.

There are some things that men do, which are generally considered feminine, such as crying and cooking. Likewise, there are certain features considered male, which can be used to describe some women such as strong or hard. A certain degree of masculine features in women and female features in men is considered normal and will not create interest. However, if one has too many characteristics of the opposite sex, this individual can be considered androgyn.

It is important not to confuse androgyny with hermaphroditism. When a person is hermaphrodite, he has mixed sex. Hermaphrodite is physically influenced by the body, which includes both male and female organs. Therefore, the sex of a person may not be absolutely defined.

Androgynous person has a mixed sex. It is necessary to understand that the genderAnd sex is not synonyms. Gender is determined by the characteristics that society generally considers suitable for the sex. This may include things like style, hobbies and work preferences.

When a person is androgynous, these properties may seem balanced. This balance usually causes sexual identification to be difficult. However, such a person can be determined from physical evaluation to be absolutely male or feminine.

Although androgyny can be considered psychological, it is not generally recognized as a disease. Unlike many beliefs, there is no recognized connection between androgyna and homosexuality. Although an androgynic man can have more female characteristics than other men, there is no evidence to indicate that he is more likely to be homosexual. The same applies to the consideration of male women and the probability of lesbism.

androgyny usually affects nothing but howis a person perceived. Sex is largely defined by stereotypes. Many of these stereotypes have historical roots. For example, historically there were household women while men were providers. In modern times, which enters the dominant workforce and dresses in a male way, it can be considered androgyn.

Some scholars believe it is actually a society that is to blame. These individuals claim that there are no two separate sexes. Instead, each individual has some features that are commonly associated with the opposite sex. These individuals argue that instead of a society determining how balanced these properties are, each individual should have the opportunity to do so.
