What is hypermetropia?

hypermetropia is more often referred to as long -sided, distance or hyperopia. This state of vision causes people to see much brighter distances than closer. This is due to a defect in the structure of the eye itself, which causes the images to focus on the retina instead directly on it. Hypermetropia can be corrected by operations, glasses or contact lenses.

Long -sided is thus named because those with this condition are not able to concentrate so clearly on objects that are directly in front of them. It can be because the eyeball itself is too small or the cornea is too flat. In both cases, the images do not focus where they should, and the vision is blurred.

Hypermetropia can be repaired. Goggles or contact lenses that are convex can again focus on the retina image. For those who do not want problems with glasses or contact lenses, the problem may also remedy permanent remedial surgery called lasics is a more disturbing, more risky and expensive solution.

diagnosis and treatment of hypermetpia is usually performed by a doctor, usually an ophthalmologist or optometry. There is a fine degree of difference between the types of doctors because both are doctors specializing in the diagnosis, care and treatment of the eye. The optician is a person who is trained to dispens the glasses and contact lenses for a certain prescription forces.

genetic condition, hypermetropia is usually presented when people are young. The condition may not be easily found, because small children somehow compensate for a compromised vision, because the brain has never learned the right focus. Can squint abundantly or stand too close to the television. In everyday activities such as catching the ball, impaired vision often is wrong for clumsy. Because the child has never known the perfect Vision, he or she does not know that his eyes are imperfect and cannot communicate this fact.

If it is not treated, later in life the condition may manifest itself in headaches or wormEye eyes, especially when dealing with a close screen of a computer, a small print or artificial light. Sometime around the middle age, the sight of a short distance of a person naturally remembers. This is usually presbyopia, impairment of vision caused by the natural process of aging.

The opposite of this condition is called myopia or myopia. Myopia occurs when the eye or cornea is too long and the images focus in front of the retina instead of it. Myopia can be repaired by concave lenses.
