What is mitral fibrillation?

The word "mitral" is related to an important part of the heart and the word "fibrillation" concerns an unsynchronized heart rhythm. Both words deal with the heart as an object, but the phrase "mitral fibrillation" is an incorrect name because the mitral valve does not cause the heart to beat in the rhythm. Irregular mitral conditions may include mitral valve prolapse, leading to mitral regurgitation and mitral stenosis. Fibrillation on the other side can be divided into two types of failures: a hall or chamber. The phrase of "mitral fibrillation" is sometimes mistakenly used as atrial fibrillation.

Mitral flap of the heart is also known as the left atrioventricular valve. It is located between the left atrium and the left chamber of the heart and helps control the flow of blood into the heart. When it works properly, the pressure from the left atrium opens the mitral valve that is filled with blood. The blood is then able to flow in the left chamber, no closure of the mitral valve to prevent blood flow back.

In the prolapse of the mitral valve, the valve does not close the left atrium of the heartBlood and empties into the left chamber. This may cause blood to escape back from the left ventricle to the left atrium. This reverse leakage is known as mitral regurgitation, a condition that does not necessarily endanger life, and some patients even unpleasant symptoms. Fibrillation, however, may be the result of a mitral valve prolapse.

Mitral stenosis is a heart condition that results in a narrowing of the mitral valve. This reduces the flood flow in the left atrium and the chamber of the heart. To compensate for blood deficiency, increase in size and pressure, resulting in an unsynchronized heart rhythm or fibrillation.

In atrial fibrillation, faster tightens usually. This means that the chambers do not have enough time to complete blood. This reduces blood supply reaching lungs and other parts of the body. Atrial fibrillation can lead to stroke or heart failure.

During this type of fibrillation, small or no blood is drawn through the heart, resulting in cardiac arrest, which requires immediate medical attention.
