What is posturography?

Posturography is a clinical study of the patient's ability to remain upright. It includes the use of non -invasive medical testing to quantitative measurement of the patient's balance and engine control. Various devices are used to assess posturography, including specialized platforms with sensors that provide feedback during the test. Physiotherapists, neurologists and other medical specialists can apply for this testing in diagnostic assessment or monitor the patient's sustained progress. The most basic test includes the patient's request to build and hold this position as long as possible. The platform sensors provide information about how the patient's weight is distributed and will be updated when the patient loses balance and the weight moves or destabilizes. Other tests may include the loading or moving of the platform to see how the patient adapts well to the angle.

Many health problems can cause balance problems. Neurological problemThe medium or peripheral nervous system can be disrupted by the patient's engine control. The vestibular balance system can be damaged, which makes patients to know where they are in relation to other objects and the environment. Muscle weakness can make it difficult to state or patients can have tremor and other neurological problems that disrupt the ability to cope and stand safely.

posturographic testing is under technical supervision and usually takes about 20 minutes. It should not be painful and patients do not have to take any special steps to prepare. Testing can be ordered in conjunction with brain scanning, muscle guidance tests and other medical testing to assess the overall health of the patient. All this information can be collected for diagnostic purposes to narrow the patient's average medal and the development of a suitable treatment plan.

Patients in treatment may also undergo periodic POsturographic testing. This can be done to see how the patient reacts well to treatment and find out whether the treatment regime is needed. It can also be used to monitor patients with degenerative diseases to monitor progress. Studies of individual patients may be useful in the case management and also provide valuable information that may be useful in the treatment of other patients with the same condition if patients agree to release their posturographic results and other medical tests.
