Aromatase (CYP19) is one of the cytochrome P450 enzymes.It can catalyze androstenedione and testosterone to remove the carbon at position 19 and aromatize the A ring, forming estradiol and estrone respectively. Rate-limiting enzyme for estrogen biosynthesis.
